Why is it when most women replace the toilet tissue, the roll is upside down?
- Jack "Stack" Stackhouse, Longs

We knew some of our rock 'n' roll heroes were getting long in the tooth, but classic rockers Foreigner's tour, which stops over at the House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach on July 31, is being sponsored by AARP - that's the group formerly known as the American Association for Retired Persons. Rock out with your dentures out!

Okay, so this isn't New York or L.A., or even Miami or Chicago.
But there's still plenty going on along the Grand Strand that doesn't involve Calabash seafood and country line dancing. So we don't want to hear "I'm so bored - there's nothing to do around here!"
Here's something cool to do: the works of S.C. artist Mike Williams is on display through July 19 at the Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawleys Island.
The exhibit features 15 of Williams' paintings, with a focus on nature, derived from the artist's love of the outdoors. He combines elements of abstract art with realism.
Williams, who grew up hunting and fishing in Sumter, was recently featured in Garden & Gun Magazine in an article by Daniel Wallace, who wrote the novel "Big Fish," which was made into a flippin' awesome movie.
The exhibition is free and open to the public.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
The Cheryl Newby Gallery is located at the Shops at Oak Lea, 11096 Ocean Highway (U.S. 17), Suite 4, Pawleys Island.

Trash or Smash
Back in 1995, waify, folky pop singer Jill Sobule had a surprise pop hit with the Sapphic ode "I Kissed a Girl," just as the whole girls-kissing-girls-just-for-fun phenomenon was on the upswing.
Fast forward to 2008, and once again, "I Kissed a Girl," is on the pop charts - only this time, it's not the same song, and it's sung by a tongue-in-cheek smarty Katy Perry. But, obviously, it's the same subject matter, and practically the same chorus, albeit a different melody.
So, it begs the question: Which song entitled "I Kissed a Girl'' is better?
We'll let you decide which one's trash, and which one's a smash.
