A movie made for a little less than 20 grand, Bellflower is a motor-head tribute to Mad Max in true indie film fashion. Evan Glodell not only directed, wrote, edited and starred in this film he also built the car thats the real star of the film. A 1972 Buick Skylark, also known as Medusa in the movie, is a fully-functional apocalyptic war machine armed with real flamethrowers, surveillance cameras and a smoke-screen machine. The film jumps over a timeline but its essentially a love story involving a nasty break-up, a bromance and an infatuation with a four-wheeled beast. The movie would be a mess without the car but for some reason, when you add the scene-stealing Skylark it justifies the whole thing. Worth a spin, even if its just to see Medusa in action.
