THE LOCALE | Rockin' Hard Saloon
THE LOWDOWN | If you're looking for cheap drinks and music, Rockin' Hard Saloon is where it's at. That's where we wound up this week for happy hour.
Rockin' Hard Saloon is in Murrells Inlet where the Krazy Parrott (and Anvil Tavern before that...and Martis in the Inlet before that...) used to be located. As you walk up, you'll see some people sitting on the front porch. Others are inside, belly-up to a long wooden bar that seats more than a couple dozen people. Records hang on the wood panel walls, as well as posters of some of the greats, including Pink Floyd, Jim Morrison, Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix. You'll also spot CDs hanging from the ceiling in the corner.
Yes, you'll see people dancing at Rockin' Hard Saloon. The establishment always has music playing and offers live music at least once a week. In addition, it also has Dub Step on Wednesdays and Reggae nights on Thursdays. You can play bar games, too, including pool, Golden Tee and corn hole.
Signature cocktails include "The Grateful Jerry," "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Kokomo." Drink deals - all day everyday drink deals, that is - include $2.50 vodka, $5 Jagermeister and $4 well drinks. During happy hour, which runs from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, you can snag $3 imports and $3 well drinks (except for vodka, which is still $2.50.) You can also munch on some 35-cent wings.
TIPS | There is additional parking across the street. Check Facebook for details about upcoming events.
