THE LOCALE | Cool Daddy's Bar & Grill, Surfside Beach
THE LOWDOWN | Whether you're looking for a cold beverage after a hot day at the beach, a drink to unwind after you get off work or live entertainment throughout the week, Cool Daddy's Bar & Grill in Surfside Beach has you covered.
You may remember when Cool Daddy's Bar & Grill was located in downtown Myrtle Beach. The owner moved the bar to Surfside Beach to a much bigger location (5,500 square feet) with a lot more parking (176 spaces). The interior has the same beauty decor with colorful hand-painted murals on the walls.
The locale - which has been everything from a Japanese steakhouse to Italian trattoria - is laid back, relaxing and peaceful. It's a family friendly joint - even pet-friendly with the outdoor seating. Inside there is a large dining area with a separate bar area. You'll find games such as Silver Strike, Golden Tee and boxing and you'll hear live music most nights of the week. On Tuesdays there's an open blues jam. Wednesdays have entertainment such as comedy or burlesque shows, and Thursdays through Saturdays there is live music.
Happy hour runs from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays (closed on Sundays). Drink specials include $1.50 domestic drafts, $2.50 well drinks and $3 margaritas. You can get certain shots for $4, including Jagermeister, Jack Honey and Grey Goose la Poire. Select appetizers are $4.
