THE LOCALE | Spencer’z Sports Pub
THE LOWDOWN | Calling all Steelers fans: Throw on your black and gold and head to Spencer’z Sports Pub for the game. That’s where we went this week for happy hour.
Spencer’z Sports Pub opened in a new location, after the old one at the corner of S.C. 544 and U.S. 17 Business between Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach was razed. There’s no mistaking Spencer’z, in stand-alone building in the Old Time Pottery parking lot, is a Steelers bar with the black and gold walls and Pittsburgh decor.
There are TVs everywhere you look. So many, in fact, you’d have to be trying hard to miss any football action. Of course you’ll find a majority of Pittsburgh Steelers fans inside, but all fans are welcome.
Spencer’z is a fun, laid back joint with lots of locals. In addition to darts, you can play games such as Silver Strike, Golden Tee and Power Putt. You can catch live blues music on Friday nights.
Head there for happy hour, which lasts until 7 p.m. on weekdays. Drink deals include $2 domestic beers and $2.50 house liquors. Jäger Bombs are $4.50 all day everyday. The menu includes burgers, wings and homemade pizzas. You can snag 8-inch pizzas for $4.99 and 12-inch pizzas for $7.99.
TIPS | Spencer’z Sports Pub’s new location is still in the Surfside Beach area but, like the old location, is outside the town limits so smoking is allowed.
FIND IT | 1880 U.S. 17 North, Surfside Beach.
