THE LOWDOWN | Some people live with their family, some people call their friends family, and some people consider their family to be right here at Jackson's Inlet Bar & Grill. That's where we went for happy hour this week.

Jackson's Inlet Bar & Grill is a laid-back locals joint. You can sit at the bar, tables or outside on the outdoor patio. If the bartender doesn't know you already, she soon will, and you might even find yourself with a birthday card on your special day. The bar has darts, pool and games such as Silver Strike. TVs are scattered around the establishment. You can also hear occasional live music.

Sports fans will enjoy the decor, which includes hand-painted team logos of college and pro teams on the ceiling and walls. Beer fans will enjoy the prices, which include $2 cans all day everyday. That's in addition to liquor specials offered throughout the week when you can get a specific liquor for $2.50 all day. For example, on Mondays, vodka is $2.50, Tuesday you get the deal on tequila, and rum is $2.50 on Fridays.

You can snag additional deals during happy hour, which runs from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. daily. Well drinks are discounted by 50 cents making them $2.50. Domestic bottles are $2.25 and imports are $2.75. Ladies, be sure to stop by on Thursdays for $2 domestic beers and wine, $2.50 import beers and $2.50 well drinks.
