BARTENDER | Meché Williams, 42

WHERE | Indo, Myrtle Beach

QUESTION | What’s the first thing you did on the first nice day this year?

ANSWER | Took my granddog for a walk.

Do you spoil your granddog like most people spoil grandkids? Absolutely. My son gets frustrated because I talk to his dog like a baby. He thinks it’s silly.

How do you handle a bad day? I think every day is a blessing. I don’t have bad days.

How do you make other people have good days? With my smile and my kindness. They are both contagious.

If you could kill with kindness, who would be your target? The devil.

And your second target? Let’s just say I believe everyone in life deserves kindness. The world is cruel enough.

When is the last time you went down a slide? At the Blue Crab Festival last year with a sweet little girl named London who was too scared to go down by herself.

What does your name mean? It’s my understanding it means “candlewick” in French. That’s what Google says.

Are you French? I’m just a country girl.

What’s the most country thing you’ve ever done? I guess cow tipping.

Do you have tips of advice for anyone who wants to try cow tipping? Knee-high boots.

Would you ever try hippo-tipping? Probably not. I’ve outgrown my tipping days.

How about tips on life - what words do you live by? I do believe in always paying it forward, random acts of kindness are contagious, and always wear a smile.
