THE LOCALE | Hammerhead Grill

THE LOWDOWN | A beautiful oceanfront view... dollar beers... live music... You can find it all at Hammerhead Grill in Myrtle Beach. That's where we went for happy hour this week.

Hammerhead Grill is located behind Shark Attack Adventure Golf at 7th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. This open-air beachfront grill has a number of tables on the ground level as well as on the rooftop, providing a stellar view of the ocean. The tables have umbrellas so you have the option of sitting in the shade or soaking up the sun.

It's a casual joint and you'll find locals and tourists alike enjoying the outdoor bar. Some come for the food, including gourmet sandwiches and local seafood. Some come for the beer and wine. And some come for the music. Every night you'll hear live music at Hammerhead Grill. Feel free to get up and dance with the rest of the crowd.

Happy hour starts at 4p.m. daily. Drink deals include dollar beers. (Throughout the rest of the day you can snag beers for three bucks and wine for four dollars.) You can also enjoy daily food specials.

TIPS | You can park across the street in the lot on 7th Avenue North. In the pond at the attached Shark Attack Adventure Golf, you can see a "shark attack" every 15 minutes.

FIND IT | 700 North Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach. Call 839-0277 or visit www.hammerheadgrillmb.com.
