THE LOCALE | Crooked Floor Tavern

THE LOWDOWN | There's a new bar in Murrells Inlet that offers a beautiful inlet view from its rooftop bar. It's called Crooked Floor Tavern, and that's where we went for happy hour this week.

You'll find the Crooked Floor Tavern in Murrells Inlet where the Short Bar used to be located, albeit after extensive renovations. It's causal and laid back and filled with locals.

You have the option of sitting at a variety of places to enjoy your food or beverage. You can snag an outdoor or indoor bar stool at the main bar which opens to the outside. The inside of the establishment has the bar area and a couple of dining areas, each with low-top tables. There are a number of tables outside on the front patio. And then there's the rooftop lounge, complete with a bar, bar stools and a handful of high-top tables.

Jamisun plays music every Sunday and Monday, and Crooked Floor Tavern has occasional live entertainment throughout the rest of the week. You can also catch drink specials throughout the week. Cure your hangover on Sundays with $3 Bloody Marys. Mondays you can get $3 Margaritas and on Thursdays domestic beers are two bucks.

Happy hour runs from 4-7p.m. Daily. Drink deals include $3.50 well drinks, $3 domestic bottles and $3.25 import bottles.

TIPS | It's worth the workout to climb the steep stairs to the rooftop to see the view. The rooftop bar closes at midnight.
