Myrtle Beach’s Okino A-OK for happy hour

September 23, 2013

THE LOCALE | Okino Japanese Restaurant

THE LOWDOWN | Whether you're hoping for sushi, cocktails or to see and be seen, you may want to stop into Okino Japanese Restaurant. That's where we went for happy hour this week.

There's a good chance you've been to the location already - it used to be called Kono Asian Grill. Okino has the same sleek city atmosphere as Kono. In fact, Kono Lounge, the bar and nightclub, still remains in the back.

When you enter Okino, you'll see a large bar area with tables and booths around the perimeter of the room and a square bar in the middle. Pull one of the white leather bar stools up to that black granite bar because that's where you'll get the happy hour specials.

Happy hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. daily. Drink deals include $2 vodkas, $2 Bud Light drafts, $2 Bud Light bottles and $4 house wines. You can snag two well drinks for five bucks. You can also cash in on sushi deals. Select sushi is half-price.

TIPS | Check out International Night on Monday nights.

FIND IT | 1901 North Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach. Call 213-1202 or visit www.konohibachiandsushibar.com.
