THE LOCALE | Pam's Oyster Bar & Grille

THE LOWDOWN | A cold beer and local oysters... you can get both at Pam's Oyster Bar & Grille in North Myrtle Beach. That's where we went for happy hour this week.

You'll find Pam's Oyster Bar & Grille near Harbourgate Marina off Sea Mountain Highway on Old U.S. 17 North. It sits where Island Time used to be located.

The crowd inside Pam's Oyster Bar & Grille includes locals and fisherman. Some patrons belly up to the bar that runs along the side wall. Others sit at low-top tables and booths, plus you'll find people out on the screened-in wooden back porch, which also has a bar and tables.

The establishment has a beachy and nautical decor. Fish, golf clubs and paintings hang on the yellow walls. A mermaid hangs from the ceiling. You'll spot some shag photos, too. And you'll hear occasional live music.

Happy hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Drink deals include $3 well drinks and $2 domestic beer.

TIPS | Pam's Oyster Bar & Grille is closed on Sundays.

FIND IT | 2100 Old U.S. 17 North, North Myrtle Beach. Call 249-0222.
