STREET PULSE for Nov. 7, 2013

November 6, 2013

Weekly Surge beats the street each week to gauge the pulse of our community. This week we asked: Is the Myrtle Beach area ready for an art house-type cinema/indie film theater?

“Yes. We’re long overdue. I’ve driven to Charleston and Wilmington (N.C.) to see more challenging films than the ones usually shown here.” Drew Jacobs, 30, Myrtle Beach

“Yes, for sure. Lots of younger people would go. I think it could work here.” Nicole Stanford, 33, Asheville, N.C.

“Yes. There’s an audience for the indie and foreign films that people here don’t get the opportunity to see.” Kevin Stanford , 39 Asheville, N.C.
