THE LOCALE | Woody’s Roadside Tavern

THE LOWDOWN | Whether you are on your way home from work or just driving by, there’s a roadside tavern off of U.S .17 Bypass that welcomes you. It’s Woody’s Roadside Tavern, and that’s where we went for happy hour this week.

Woody’s Roadside Tavern is located on Fred Nash Boulevard just off the Bypass between Coastal Grand Mall and The Market Common. It’s just south of Joe’s Diner where Red Barn Tavern used to be.

Woody’s Roadside Tavern is a casual, laid-back bar where locals come to hang out. When you take a look around, you’ll see several TVs, a pool table and a ton of peoples’ signatures on the walls.

Patrons can snag a stool at the bar that seats about ten or grab a spot at one of the high-top tables throughout the joint. Others may choose to sit in the huge outdoor area behind the building which has a bar, a number of tables and a stage. Sometimes you can catch live bands out there.

Happy hour runs from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays (closed Sundays and Mondays.) Drink deals include $2 domestic beers, $3 imports and $2 well drinks.

TIPS | Woody’s Roadside Tavern is now the Zombie Walk home bar.
