THE LOCALE | Coastal Wine Boutique

THE LOWDOWN | If you enjoy a good glass of wine, you will love the Coastal Wine Boutique. There are hundreds of wines to choose from. Plus the boutique has happy hour, so that’s where we went this week.

Coastal Wine Boutique is located at the corner of Ocean Boulevard and 21st Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. The inside has a cozy and comfortable feel. Grapevines cover the walls and ceiling and illuminated green and red grapes hang throughout the leaves. You can snag a seat at the curved bar which seats 10, or settle into a chair or loveseat, each black with a red cushion. There is also seating available outside.

If you’ve ever had a question about wine, this is the place to get it answered. The owner knows quite a bit about wine and is willing to share that knowledge with patrons through wine tastings and pairings. Coastal Wine Boutique offers wine tastings throughout the week, or you can schedule a private wine tasting.

The establishment has an extensive wine selection with nearly 300 wines. You’ll see some of those selections in a wine rack on the wall. Coastal Wine Boutique also sells specialized handblown wine bottles for occasions such as weddings, anniversaries and Christmas.

The lounge offers a tapas menu and Mediterranean plates. You can get items such as olives, cheeses, breads, grape leaves and hummus. On select nights you can also get sushi by Keith Carter of Shiro Sushi Catering.

Happy hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Drink specials include $5 house wines, $5 sangria, $5 well drinks and $3 draft beers. Ask about happy hour food specials.

TIPS | Call or stop by to schedule wine tastings, pairings or private dinners. Also check out the Coastal Wine Boutique location in Pawleys Island and the upcoming location at The Market Common.
