Former South Myrtle Beach Chili’s reborn as new sports bar and grill

THE LOCALE | Lincoln Park Bar & Grill

THE LOWDOWN | If you're looking for a spot to watch sports AND enjoy good food, check out the brand new Lincoln Park Bar & Grill. That's where we went for happy hour this week.

You'll find Lincoln Park Bar & Grill on U.S. 17 Bypass South just south of S.C. 544 where Chili's Bar & Grill used to be. It's a sports bar with flat panel TVs everywhere - 28 to be exact - with two more that will be added to the outside patio. The establishment carries all the sports packages so you can likely view whichever sporting event you're hoping to watch.

Lincoln Park Bar & Grill is geared toward locals, but everyone is welcomed in to enjoy the fun, fast-paced and exciting atmosphere. In addition to the dining area, there's a square bar that seats 20 and several high-top tables in the bar area. The outdoor patio has a dozen tables.

The original Lincoln Park Bar & Grill is located in New York City. It started as a dive bar and was transformed into a nice sports bar, similar to this locale. The brick walls in the Myrtle Beach location are actually made from bricks from buildings in New York City. (They were saved from buildings that were torn down.) On those brick walls you'll see a modest amount of sports decorations - enough to look classy, not tacky. For example, there's a college wall sporting Clemson, South Carolina and Coastal Carolina University, and a pro wall sporting the Giants, Yankees and Mets. Carolina Panther fans, your team is represented, too.

Lincoln Park Bar & Grill offers more than 20 craft beers... more than 30 beers in all. Fourteen of those are on tap. The menu includes a number of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, wraps, pizzas and entrees. Recommended dishes include the Shrimp and Grits, Fish Tacos and Wings.

You can snag a discount on wings, as well as a few other appetizers, during happy hour. Happy hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays. Wings, nachos, cheese pizzas, cheese quesadillas and mozzarella sticks will cost you five bucks during happy hour. Drink deals include $3 well drinks, $3 house wines and $2 Pabst Blue Ribbon, Budweiser and Bud Light draughts.

You'll also find weekly food and drink specials. For example, on Monday nights all draught beers are $3, and on Tuesday nights you can snag domestic beer bottles for two dollars.

TIPS | Lincoln Park Bar & Grill plans to have live music on the patio this summer, and trivia should start up in a couple weeks.
