New spot on Myrtle Beach’s Restaurant Row caters to happy feet

June 2, 2014

THE LOCALE | Aqua Ultra Lounge

THE LOWDOWN | There's a new spot where you can get good deals on drinks AND get your groove on. It's a nightclub called Aqua Ultra Lounge, and that's where we went for happy hour this week.

Aqua Ultra Lounge is located behind Thoroughbreds in the Magnolia Town Center in the building that used to house Night Fever. There's a long silver metallic bar that wraps through the establishment. On one end there's a dance floor and deejay booth with the music pumping. Next to the dance floor patrons can snag a seat at small round tables with red high-backed chairs or on a couple cream leather couches.

The other half of the establishment has more tables and offers a little quieter atmosphere where you can sit and relax. The mood is laid back and offers a place for people to come and decompress. There are a couple of pool tables, too.

As far as music goes, you'll hear a little bit of everything. There are nightly deejays. Every Friday the nightclub has "The Draft," which is when several different deejays switch out throughout the night, each spinning for about an hour.

Service industry workers, listen up... your first drink is on the house. This includes servers, bartenders, deejays, dancers, dishwashers and more. Just bring something that proves you work in the service industry, whether it be a pay-stub or a name tag, and your first beer or house drink is free.

Happy hour starts at 4 p.m. daily. Drink deals include $2 well drinks and $2 domestic beers. You can also snag seven martinis for $7, such as a pink lemonade martini or a raspberry martini.

TIPS | Look for food specials soon on the happy hour menu. Check Facebook for deejay schedules and special events.
