Want to check out some barbecue - and some tunes and vendors - for yourself? Then follow your nose to the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base for the third annual Beach Boogie & BBQ Festival, featuring cook-offs, fireworks, celebrity meet-and-greets, and a free concert by country artist John Michael Montgomery.

Below is the schedule of events:

 

 

 

FRIDAY

• Still Cruzin' Beach Band, 5 - 8 p.m. South Stage, south side of lake. No cover.

• Beach, Boogie and BBQ 5K Run/Walk, 1 Mile Run/Walk and 50 yard Tot Trot, 6 p.m. - Registration begins at 4 p.m. 5K begins at 6 p.m., 1 Mile begins at 7 p.m. and Tot Trot begins at 7:30 p.m. Registration located near boat dock on north side of lake. Call 272-1717 to register or download application online at www.sunfunfestival.com/beachboogiebbq/registration.htm. Entry fee is required.

• Anything But Pork Contest and Tasting, 6 - 8 p.m. Located on football field, south side of lake. $5 for five sampling tickets.

• Food Vendors, 7 - 10 p.m. Located throughout Grand Park.

• John Michael Montgomery concert, 8 - 9:30 p.m. Main Stage, north side of lake. No cover.

• Fireworks, approximately 9:30 p.m. No cover.

• Announcement of Anything But Pork Championship Winners: Best Booth, Best Dessert, and Best Sauce, Approx 10 p.m. South stage, South side of lake. No cover.

SATURDAY

• Official Barbeque Championship, 8 - 10 a.m. Football Field, south side of lake. No cover.

• Official Beach Boogie and BBQ Welcome Ceremony, 10 a.m. Main Stage, north side of lake. No cover.

• Celebrity Meet-and-Greet with Austin Peck ("Brad Snyder" of "As the World Turns") 10 a.m. - Noon; 2-4 p.m. Tent #1 near Main Stage, north side of lake. First come, first served. No cover.

• Wheels at the Beach Car Show, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Located along Farrow Parkway. No cover.

• Arts and Crafts Vendors, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Located throughout Grand Park.

• Boat Rides, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Located on the boat ramp, north side of lake. No cover.

• Food Vendors, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Located throughout Grand Park.

• Kids Zone, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Throughout south side of lake. No cover.

• Clay Brown and Legend Band, 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Main Stage, north side of lake. No cover.

• Barbeque sandwiches and plates for sale, 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Ticket booths and BBQ tents located throughout festival grounds. All proceeds benefit the Omar Shriner charities. Prices vary.

• Celebrity Meet-and-Greet with Murray Bartlett ("Cyrus Foley" of "Guiding Light") Noon - 2 p.m.; 4-6 p.m. Tent #2, south side of lake. First come, first served. No cover.

• Competitive Eating - BBQ Sandwich Eating Championship, 2 p.m. Front of Main Stage, north side of lake. No cover.

• Wheels at the Beach Awards, 3:30 - 4 p.m. Main stage, North side of lake. No cover.

• "Summer Escape SM 2008" Grand Prize Event, 4 - 4:30 p.m. Presentation will take place on the Main Stage, north side of lake.

• The Flashbacks Beach Band, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.; 6:30-7:30 p.m. Main Stage, north side of lake. No cover.

• Announcement of Smoke on the Beach Barbeque Championship Winners, 5:30 p.m. Main Stage, north side of lake. No cover.

• Clemson Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide - Game Night at Grand Park, 8 p.m. Watch the game on an outdoor big screen. No cover.

• Fireworks, approximately 9:30 p.m. No cover.
